/Tap Sailor #3) - Rahman is an Iraq student at MPC (Monterey
Peninsula College). Last August, 2009 he was granted a scholarship
through an educational program called ISP, Iraqi Students Project to
continue his education majoring in drama/theatre. He has appeared in
numerous productions locally including The CAPTAIN CAPTIVATE and THE
CHOCOLATE AFFAIR at the studio theatre, in addition to a couple of
miming performances at the dance studio. In addition to that, on October
9, 2009 he was rewarded a Certification of Recognition presented by the
Arab Cultural & Community Center, during the annual Gala Festival at the

- After years of being an avid theatre fan, I became a participant. I am
totally hooked! I was in choral groups in college and had voice lessons
over the years, and then a revue of Broadway show tunes at the Wharf
Theatre last year. This is only my second time to take the stage and I

VIRGINIA BELL
Mrs. Wadsworth T. Harcourt - Virginia has appeared in numerous
productions locally, including OLIVER, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and PETER
PAN at the outdoor Forest Theater, for PacRep. In addition, she taught
dance and she was in many shows with Hidden Valley for several years.
One of her proudest moments was appearing in a short video directed by
her son this past summer, ZOMBIE. (Which can be viewed on YouTube.) (ANYTHING

MICHAEL BLACKBURN (Tom Collins) is thrilled to
be performing the role of Collins in MPC’s cast of RENT. He was last
seen in Pacific Repertory’s production of The 23rd Annual Putnam County
Spelling Bee. Michael is a musician as well, and spends much of his time
musically directing, especially children’s musical theatre.

MICHELLE BOULWARE
Virtue
-
is a sought after conductor and vocalist. She has appeared in several local
theater productions, including “Company”, “Kiss Me Kate”, and “Broadway, The
Musical”. Her performances number in the dozens including opera, musical
theater and solo recitals. Michelle’s experience as a soloist and conductor has
taken her to New York, Germany, Austria, Canada, England, Ireland and
Scotland. She has sung backup for Josh Groban, Michael McDonald, Carmen, and
Tommy Sims. Michelle currently is a soloist at Carmel Presbyterian Church. She
has a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Cal State Long Beach. Michelle

REINA
CRUZ VAZQUEZ (Ensemble) is thrilled to make her MPC debut
with this amazing show! Credits include: Cabaret (lulu), Anything Goes
(Bonnie LaTour), The Heart’s Desire (Rosie) at The Western Stage in
Salinas. Reina is blessed to have the continued support of her family
and friends, and is so grateful for the opportunity to perform such a
powerful piece of theater with such a fantastic group of individuals.

WARWICK CRUZ (Ensemble) is a versatile
performer whose artistic career started very early with playing drums
and up until recently was in a local rock band. He has also trained in
many dances, including jazz, ballet, tap, and ballroom competitions. He
has performed in many productions with The Western Stage that include On
The Town, Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, how to Success in Business
Without Really Trying, The Waiting Room, and many more. He is thrilled
to be making his debut with the MPC Theatre Company in Rent. Love and

MITCHELL DAVIS
The Captain - Mitchell has performed on local stages for “a long time”
and most recently appeared at MPC as Larry in “Company”, The Large and Terrible
Frog in “A Year with Frog and Toad”, Thug #2 in “Kiss Me Kate”, Arvide in Guys
and Dolls”, Senex in “Forum”, Senator Fipp in “Urinetown the Musical”, Selsdon
in “Noises Off”, and Herr Shultz in “Cabaret”. Last year, he was Dr. Bob in
“Bill W. and Dr. Bob” with the Paper Wing Theater. He has performed with other
theater companies on the Peninsula including The Troupers of the Central Coast,

PHYLLIS DAVIS
Charity - Phyllis has enjoyed performing on Peninsula stages for
over 25 years. Her most recent credits at MPC include Joanne in
“Company”, Bird/Narrator in “A Year with Frog and Toad”, Mrs. Mayor in “Seussical”,
Domina in “Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” Josephine
Strong in “Urinetown the Musical”, Dotty in “Noises Off”, Grace in
“Annie”, Fraulein Schneider in “Cabaret”, and many more. She has
directed productions for the Forest Theater Guild and appeared on many

WALT DEFARIA
Director – Walt directed A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD for MPC last
year and is directing both Cole Porter’s ANYTHING GOES and A TAFFETA
CHRISTMAS this season. He has directed numerous productions at Carmel’s
outdoor Forest Theater for PacRep including BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JOSEPH
AND THE AMAZING TECNICOLOR DREAMCOATCOAT, THE WIZARD OF OZ and PETER
PAN. Currently he is Executive Producer on an animated film in Japan
and a movie for television for the BBC, both based on the classic
children’s books, THE BORROWERS. He has a film project based on Russell
Hoban’s THE MOUSE AND HIS CHILD in development with Kennedy/Marshall

CAMILA de la Llata (Mimi Marquez) is 20 years old and going into
her third year at Cal State, Fullerton. She has grown up doing theater
in the area. She was part of PacRep’s High School Musical team,
performing as Taylor during its three year marathon. This is her third
show at MPC. Camila was in Guys and Dolls (Hot Box Dancer/Havanna
Dancer) and the Producers (Showgirl). She is very excited to be playing
one of her dream roles in RENT and being reunited on stage with some of
her oldest friends. This has been such a wonderful cast to work with,

GLORIA ELBER &
REED SCOTT
Choreographers – Gloria is a dancer, teacher, director and
choreographer. She has worked with most of the theater groups on the
Peninsula and was the choreographer for the gold winning USA Olympic
team. She teaches dance at Stevenson School. Reed has danced
professionally with two ballet companies as a principal and soloist. He
also works on the technical side of theater designing and building sets
for the MPC Storybook Theater. Reed and Gloria have co-choreographed
such shows as Peter Pan, If Wishes Were Horses, Carmel Follies
and Nutcracker. They have also created a number of musical shows
for children’s summer camps.(ANYTHING

BETH ELDERKIN (Maureen Johnson) is relatively new to the MPC
Theatre Community, but has many years of experience in music, theater,
and dance. She is perhaps best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and
lyricist for her all-sister rock band Third Eclipse. She was also a
founding member of the Santa Cruz improv troupe Room for Improvement,
and has performed in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Hans Christian
Anderson’s The Little Mermaid, The Fan, and several short works. She
wrote and directed Next on Croc’s Tame Adventures for MPC’s Festival of
Shorts in 2005, and has choreographed and performed dances for Cabrillo
College, MPC and Hartnell College. She will be attending San Diego State
University this Fall to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism
with a focus in wine and food writing.(RENT,

LANIER FAIRCHILD
Girl 3 and Tap Specialty Passenger - I love theatre! Especially
musicals! At age 12 I was part of The Wizard of Oz at the Outdoor Forest
Theatre in Carmel. Walt deFaria was my first director! My second show
was “HAIR” at MPC. As the youngest cast member, it was life-changing
experience! I joined Carmel High School’s Thespian Troup and spent most
of my high school career on stage. After graduation I returned to direct
24 freshmen in “Stage Door”. In college, at America’s Teaching Zoo, I
co-wrote and directed a 45-minute scripted show with 25 humans and 50+

JACQUIRE FRAZIER
Stage Manager - has been a performer with PacRep and the Forest
Theater in the productions of Inherit the Wind, Cyrano de Bergerac,
The Wizard of Oz, Oliver, Fiddler on the Roof and Hello Dolly. For
Jacquie, the technical aspects of theater hold many exciting challenges.

CONSTANCE GAMIERE
Costume Designer - Constance has been the main costume
designer for MPC main stage productions since 1974. She has designed
over 170 productions for stage, TV and film. Constance has two Master's
degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a full-time,
tenured theatre arts instruct...or and counselor for MPC. Some of the
previous show's she has designed for MPC are "Amadeus" (1986), "Tommy"
(1988), "Evita (1990), "Nine" (1994), "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
(2003), "Urinetown" (2006/2008) and "A Taffeta Christmas" (2010). She
looks forward to many more years with the MPC Theatre Arts Department.

TENLEY GETSCHMAN
- Tenley was born in Misawa, Japan at age 0. She started acting when she
was 12, and it has been her life (metaphorically) ever since. Tenley has
done a few short plays in her drama class at Carmel Middle School. Her
first “actual” play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in which she played
Peter Quince. Tenley lives with her Family in the heart of Carmel. She

NATALIE HALL (Joanne Jefferson) received her BFA in Drama from
NYU’s Experimental theater wing in the Tisch School of the Arts, and a
Certificate in Shakespeare from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in
London. Before college, she spent a lot of time playing men at Santa
Catalina High School, the most exciting of which was Fagin in Oliver!.
Favorite roles include Joan in Melancholy Play, Jess (Natalie) in The
Complete Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), Evilline in The Wiz, and
Bertram in All’s Well That Ends Well (playing a man again, but this time
not in high school). Natalie is thrilled to be Joanne in RENT, and
thanks Gary for welcoming her to the MPC community. She intends to
pursue a graduate degree in Arts Administration.

LAUREN HOELSCHER
- Lauren is currently a student at Monterey Peninsula College. She
enjoys the theatre classes on campus, and wishes to pursue a career
in theatre. She is playing the Queen Ant in The Ant and the
Grasshopper. Some of her previous roles have included the Beggar
Woman from Sweeney Todd, and Frau Blucher from Young Frankenstein.

AYLA GLIM (Ensemble) is so thankful for the opportunity to be in
this phenomenal, amazing, and awe-inspiring show. She has loved every
aspect of performing that she has encountered, from jazz dance to
marching band, drama class to powerhouse musicals. Recent shows include
Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz at the outdoor Forest Theatre.
She was last seen as Martha Cox in High School Musical 2 at the Pacific
Repertory Theatre in Carmel. She sends her love out to her parents,

CAROL HEILAND-ROSA
Sailorette & Co-Dance Captain -
teaches dance,
fitness & Zumba classes at Carmel Academy of Performing Arts, Garden
Health & Fitness, and the Monterey Sports Center. Last Fall she directed
“Sleeping Beauty” for MPC's Storybook Theatre. She grew up on the
Monterey Peninsula & received her education in dance from U.C. Irvine,
Monterey Peninsula College and U.C. Santa Cruz. She's danced
professionally & also works as a Stage Manager for DanceKids. She loves

SKIP KADISH
Moonface
- Skip Kadish has appeared in more than 40 productions since 1995
performing in all the venues on the Monterey Peninsula. His last MPC
production was spring of 2009 as the singing snail in a Year with Frog
and Toad (directed by Walt de Faria). Last summer he played Brownlow in
Pac Rep’s Oliver at the Outdoor Forest Theater. Most recently he was a
Lithuanian Bishop in the Western Stage production of Mame. Once again it
is a pleasure working with Walt and his dedicated staff.(ANYTHING

NICK KELLEY (Ensemble) joined the MPC family last year with The
Producers. While having dabbled in all spects of the stage, orchestra,
set building, tech, swordfight choreography, puppeteering (and even a
brief stint as at directing), his acting roles are almost exclusively in
musicals. His favorite role so far has been the Cowardly Lion in The
Wizard of Oz. After Rent, there are only 3 more musicals on the “bucket
list”; Chicago (Amos), Reefer Madness (Ralph), and Little Shop of

CONNIE LEE
Purity - Connie has been acting on the Monterey Peninsula for 10
years. Connie has performed in Summerdaze, Annie, Get Your
Gun!, Ghost in the Box, Oliver!, Wizard of Oz, If Wishes Were Horses,
Cindy’s Diaries, Kid Millionaire, Ghosties, and Earth’s A’Poppin’.
This is the 3rd time she has been cast as an “Angel” –
love that typecasting! She usually appears on stage with one or all of
her 3 children while her husband either works backstage or is in the
audience whistling! But this time she goes it alone on the stage.

TARA MARIE LUCIDO (Ensemble) most recently starred as the quiet,
promiscuous Billie Joe in the remake of the 1974 motion picture Buster
and Billie. Notable as one of the earliest mainstream teenage angst
movies to have male frontal nudity and notable now as one of 8 films
shot with the revolutionary Canon 5D Mark II. Latest regional credits
with Pacific Repertory Theatre – The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling
Bee (Marcy Park), PRT’s Hyperion play project Curtain Call (Gwen), and
the Wizard of Oz (Dorothy). Favorite shows at MPC include Company
(April), Kiss me Kate (Lois Lane), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hermia),
Noises Off (Poppy), You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Sally), The Rocky

ANDREA MCDONALD
Tap Passenger, Delovely Singer - Since her retirement in 2007,
Andrea started her new “career” on stage. Always a dancer, she’s
thrilled to be one of the tappers in “Anything Goes.” When she’s not
performing or in rehearsals, you’ll find her around town and in the Bay
Area dancing Argentine Tango. Her credits include “Camelot”, “Wizard of
Oz.” and “My Fair Lady.” This year she worked at MPC with Walt deFaria
for “A Year with Frog and Toad,” was in “The Producers” and “A Christmas
Carol.” She “jumps” at any opportunity to trod the boards.(ANYTHING

STEVIE MCKIM.
Delovely Singer /Tap Sailorette - Stevie has been dancing, singing, and
acting since the age of two. She has been trained in Tap, Jazz, Ballet,
Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Muscial Theater and Ballroom. She has been successful
at nationally ranked dance competitions. She was a cheerleader in high
school and in college. Stevie went to Cal State L.A. and graduated with
a B.A. in history. She danced and performed professionally in L.A.,
Orange County, Las Vegas, and New York. She was the director of a dance
team in Orange County, which led her to be an award -winning
choreographer. She is happy to be back on the Central Coast performing

GLORIA C. MATTOS

Costumes - Peninsula native, Gloria, has been designing costumes for
community theatre since 1968.She has designed for several theatre
companies and directors in the bay area and locally. Most currently she
has designed costumes at MPC’s Morgan Stock Theatre, for the following
productions: Plaza Suite, Death of a Salesman, The Producers and
Chapter Two. Gloria has also served the local community by providing
leadership for the following arts organizations: Arts Habitat, Artists
Equity Central Coast Chapter, City of Seaside Art Commission and
Monterey Bay Center for the Arts. For Gloria, creativity is the soul of

KENNETH ALLEN NEELY (Roger Davis) is delighted to be joining the
MPC Theatre Company’s production of RENT. A resident of LA, though born
and raised on the Monterey Peninsula, Kenneth would like to thank the

JENNIFER L. NEWMAN has performed all her life, but musical theatre
is her passion. By day, she is known as Mrs. Foreman when she teaches
English at NMCHS. Some of her favorite roles on the Monterey Peninsula
include: Queen in Once Upon a Mattress, Charlotte, the therapist
in Beyond Therapy, Miss Hannigan in Annie, and Sarah in
Company. Some of her favorite roles in the Sacramento area include:
Corey in Barefoot in the Park, Nanette in No, No, Nanette,
and Witch in Into the Woods. She is also a member of Monterey
Peninsula Choral Society.

ALYSSA PIERCE
– Alyssa is a student at MPC. She has been involved in theatre since
middle school and hopes to continue to be involved in many
productions in the future. She has had many other roles, but some of

of the spider in The Ant and the Grasshopper and to be acting

voice over resume includes over 1,000 performances on television shows,
feature films, cartoons and soundtracks. On-camera
acting credits include roles on Murphy
Brown, Double Rush, Candid Camera, and
a number of commercials and films. She
was a regular at the world famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd for five
years and performed at other major comedy clubs such as The Ice House in
Pasadena and The Improv in Hollywood. Gracie gives acting and singing
lessons, teaches after school drama at Carmel River School, and is
director of the Actor’s Forum Summer Theater Camp. (ANYTHING

DANIELJOSEPH RENFER (Mark Cohen) got his start in musical
theater as a child with Ariel Theatrical in Salinas. He has also worked
with Pacific Repertory Theater and El Teatro Campesino on projects such
as Zoot Suit and Disney’s High School Musical 1 & 2. Daniel is
transferring to MPC this fall to pursue his degree in Kinesiology with
the intent of attending a postgraduate program to become a Physician
Assistant. Daniel is very excited to be making his MPC Theater debut in
RENT as Mark, a character he has always had great interest in playing.(RENT,

TOMAS REYES (Ensemble) is very happy to be a part of this amazing
cast of MPC’s production of RENT. This is his first time performing with
the MPC Theater group and hopefully not his last. Tomás has also worked
with theater groups such as Pacific Repertory Theater, and the Western
Stage. Some of his favorite roles so far have been Pedro (Man of la
Mancha), Sidney (American Clock), and Steve in the support group for
RENT. Tomás, aside from theater, also likes playing music, long walks on
the beach, big squeezes, and film. Tomás would like to thank his friends

ANNA SCHUMACHER
- Anna has loved theater since she was very young. She was very
impressed when her parents took her to see a live show and had
dreams of someday performing herself. Anna got a lucky break when
she was cast as wife #5 in The King and I when she was 15 and has
had the bug ever since. Some of her favorite roles have been:
Winefred in Once upon a Mattress, Mrs. Frank in The Diary of Anne
Frank and Frau Schneider in Cabaet just to name a few. She would

ERIN RAE SHIELDS (Ensemble) discovered a deep and strange love
for the theatre at a very young age. She has since taken many classes
both in high school and at MPC to hone her skills. She is aiming toward
an Associates’ Degree in Acting. Her theatre credits include appearing
as B.J. in The Late Great Me at the Paper Wing Theatre Company, and as
Roxanne in Rumplestiltskin at MPC’s Storybook Theater. She is absolutely
thrilled to be a part of one of her favorite shows, RENT, and could not

L.J. THOMAS
Reporter, Tap Sailor #5 -
This is L.J.’s stage
debut on the Morgan Stock Stage. Other MPC theatre productions include:
The Bad Seed, Ali Baba and The Magic Cave and Rumplestiltskin.
L.J. has local film credits including: Where’s Marty, Night Life,
and You Are Not Alone. Prior to moving to Monterey, L.J. was
active in theatre productions in Visalia, California. He is a Past
President of the Enchanted Playhouse Theatre Company and was Publicity
Director for the Ice House Theatre. Visalia production credits include:
Twelve Angry Men, Play It Again Sam, A Shayna Maidel, Inherit the
Wind, The Outsiders, Dancing at Lughnasa, and Natalie Needs a
Nightie.

TYLER VOCELKA (Benjamin Coffin III) - Tyler attended Children's
Experimental Theater at the Indoor Forest Theater for 3 years prior to
writing and directing the first student-run show ever produced at North
Monterey County High School, where he became president of the Drama club
his senior year. Earlier this year, he appeared in ANYTHING GOES at MPC,
where he is currently pursuing 3 Associates Degrees in Acting,
Directing, and Technical Theater.

JESSICA VORIS
Passenger - has been interested in theatre and singing since she could
remember. She has a classical voice training background of 10 years,
and currently sings lead with local blues and rock bands around
Monterey. She has always been musically inclined and started writing
songs in her early teens. Jessica has recently taken on the piano to
accompany herself, and is presently recording a demo CD of her original
work. Jessica thanks all her family, friends and mentors for their
love and support; without them, she never could have made it this far
and it’s only the beginning.

CORINNE WALKER (Ensemble) appeared in last year’s performance of
“The Producers” as a dancer/ensemble member. RENT is her second show at
MPC. Corrine is currently attending CSU Northridge, where she is working
toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a minor in Theater. Some
of her previous credits include; My Fair Lady, Evita, and Grease.
Corinne is so happy to be able to be home for the summer, and to be a
part of this brilliant cast. Being somewhat of a “Renthead,” this has

ANA WARNER
(stage manager and props) graduated in 2004 with three degrees from MPC,
Acting, Directing, and Technical. Before working as a scene shop
assistant, she performed in several shows including "Rocky Horror Show",
"Cabaret", and "Noises Off". Ana has also directed in the Studio
Theatre, her favorite project being "Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas
Binge". She has been working primarily as the Stage Manager, as well as
working in the scene shop as a carpenter, wardrobe mistress, and

STEVE WOODS
- Bishop Henry T Dobson - Steve began his acting career late
after his daughter Stephanie began performing in Walt DeFaria plays in
the late 90's. He has been in five shows at the Forest Theater
including, Peter Pan (twice), Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing
Techincolor Dreamcoat and Beauty and the Beast. As part of the SODA cast
at the Carmel Golden Baugh he was seen in Ghosties, If Wishes were
Horses, Summerdaze, Ghost in the Box, The Cindy Diaries, Kid
Millionaire and Earth's A Poppin. Last Spring Steve was Father Frog in
the MPC production of "A Year with Frog and Toad."

TOMONI YOSHIDA
- Tomomi, born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, first of five daughters,
recently moved to Monterey area. She studied theatre at Georgia
College. She was an actor for The Nagoya Players, an International
English language community theater, where she acted in productions such
as The Crucible and The Government Inspector. Her various theatrical
interests and study enabled her to direct shows and to act in a number
of independent films. She is very excited to be a part of the theater
arts community in this area, as The Ants and The Grasshopper will be her
debut in the West Coast. (ANT AND THE
